The time will come
When, with elation,
You will greet yourself arriving
At your own door, in your own mirror,
And each will smile at the other's welcome,
And say, sit here. Eat.
You will love the stranger who was your self.

~ Derek Walcott

Teaching yoga places very special demands on us. So much of a Yoga teacher's practice can be caught up in generating content, sequences and themes for teaching that we forget to focus on what we need from our time on the mat.

Most yoga teachers are also working alone without significant collegial connection and support which can lead to a sense of isolation. Burn out and a lack of inspiration can erode our personal enthusiasm for practice leaving us feeling depleted.

This intensive is intended as an antidote, renewing a sense of enjoyment, enthusiasm and pleasure in practice as well as offering opportunities for meaningful collegial connection, whether that be through dyad exchange or through receiving gentle touch.

What to Expect

In this special gathering Donna will be sharing inventive and effective practices that can help to improve and maintain your mobility, strength and balance at any age.

A special emphasis of this intensive will be a "ground up" approach to well-being: giving attention to our feet and the kinetic chain upwards through the legs, pelvis, and spine. To our core: in facilitating core connectivity from the center to the limbs. And to our relationship to space: through a more refined alignment of the shoulders, neck and head.

While our focus will be on gentle yet strengthening experiential practice, there will be lots of interesting material to add to your teaching toolbox.

Daily Structure

Morning Sessions
Devoted to more active practice — inventive and effective practices for mobility, strength and balance.
Afternoon Sessions
Discussion, collegial exchange (some of which may include touch), Restorative Yoga, and deeply relaxing guided Yoga Nidra.

Who Is This For?

Whether you've just begun your teaching journey, have been teaching for decades or are taking a hiatus from teaching, this intensive is an opportunity to reconnect to yourself, reinspire your own practice, and be on the receiving end of Yoga's power to regenerate.

Testimonials from 2025 Intensives

Donna's work is singular, masterful, and reflective of decades of study and self-exploration. It is this that impacts my body so immediately and so deeply. After more than 50 years of working with my own challenges and others', this is uniquely the teacher I return to at a time in my life when I no longer take classes. It is here that I feel trust. It is here that I feel license.

~ Diana Tokaji, C-IAYT, MSC. (Cambridge Intensive)

I continue to find Donna's work inspirational. I am always astounded by the attention to detail and the care and attention that goes into each individual session. Not a word too much, no explanation too long or too complex. Donna finds ways to explain which directly relate to the human experience of moving, breathing and being. I have been very thankful to have finally experienced this in person.

~ Carolanne Weidele (Cambridge Intensive)

After working to come on one of Donna's trainings or workshops for many years I finally got to book on. The depth of knowledge that Donna has is amazing. Add an inquisitive mind, compassionate approach and a welcoming presence. This intensive inspired me in my own practice and it is what I want to offer to others in my classes.

~ Denise Walters

What a treat it was to spend time studying in person with Donna. It's such a privilege to learn these practices from someone who lives them and is clearly refining them all the time. I'm leaving with a wealth of material to nourish my personal practice and which, in time, I look forward to sharing with others.
